Bought a new scanner

I got an Epson V550 to scan film negatives, but I wanted to see the difference from a scan and the picture of the Red Cardinal

Big difference in the detail and being able to see the texture. Still playing with it but I am limited to A4 size (similar to 8 1/2 x 14). Also not sure what dpi I need to set at...it goes up to 12800 dpi.....It is great to scan b/w and color 35mm negatives!!
